ABOUT

Gerald’s Why

Former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers most involved players in the community since being drafted 3rd overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Gerald’s mother (Patricia Diane McCoy) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while Gerald was a freshman at the University of Oklahoma. Gerald knows first-hand what it is like to live with just one parent and how that can negatively impact an entire family emotionally and financially.

It is those experiences that led Gerald to establish Gerald McCoy’s Patricia Diane Foundation in honor of his late mother.
